I have called this space the 90 day vegan for three reasons.
Firstly, I find it helpful for myself to establish goals, and state intentions out and put it out there to be fulfilled. Without doing this, I often make grand plans for action which hardly ever come to fruition, and my motivation is often lost within the midst of planning and preparing.
Second, a period of 90 days, I have read, is an effective time period to change habits and form new ones. So, I have chosen 90 days as a starting point towards change and transformation into a sustainable life. I hope that these 90 days will represent a period of transformation and spark a shift of consciousness from reaction and unconscious habits to one of conscious action and positive change. It is my hope that this 90 days will make the start to an ongoing journey of sustainably happy living.
Part of this process of transformation, involves taking control, not just letting circumstances get ahold of me. To initiate this process, I have decided to take a closer look at my own habits and lifestyle choices and examine just exactly these habits effect my own life, and the environment within which I live. Changing my dietary habits, is the most intimate and effective manner through which I can commence this shift. I am indeed already a rather conscious eater, and any change in my diet would have to exclude meat and its by-products. So, I have chosen vegan, for this initiation process.
